Do not have to be a Tyler County
resident.

Must submit a 12" x 12" hand sewn quilt
block to be judged.

The blocks will be judged on Monday
afternoon. All entries must be received on Sunday by
5;00 p.m. or Monday by 12:00 noon.

All blocks must be made of washable
permanent- press cotton or cotton blends. Must be 12" x
12" inches square.

Judges will choose blocks to be made
into a quilt. This quilt will be quilted by the public
on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 - 9:00 a.m., at the fair.
In the event that the quilt is not completed on
Wednesday, the quilting will also be done on Thursday,
Senior Citizens Day.

Owners of the quilt blocks chosen
understand that their blocks become the property of the
Tyler County Fair Board.

Finished quilt will be given away by
random drawing after completion. To be eligible for this
drawing, you must have submitted a block to be judged or
have participated in the quilting of the quilt. Only
those who meet either of the above requirements will
have their names entered into the drawing.

We reserve the right to display the
quilt for the remaining days of the fair. The person
winning the quilt will be responsible for picking it up
when the fair is over.

Categories for the block competition
will be as follows: a) Pieced Block b)Appliqued
block 1 block per category may be
entered.

The color for 2010 Fall colors.
This means that these colors must appear somewhere in
the quilt block pattern. Judging will also be based on
degree of difficulty, originality, workmanship, accuracy
of size of block and overall neatness. Blue
ribbon- $3, Red ribbon - $2, White ribbon-$1

Only 20 blue ribbons will be awarded but
there is no limit on red or white ribbons.
Category A.- Pieced by and
quilted by the same person
Category B. - Pieced by and quilted
or machine quilted by another person
Category C. - Appliqued, embroidered,
cross stitched or quilted:
Category D.- Knotted
Category E. - Quilt tops
Category F. - Wall Hanging
Category G. - Handwork alot, machine
or hand quilted
