Registration
All entries must be in place by
12:00 noon, Monday of the fair. Poultry cannot be removed until 9:00 pm on
the Saturday of the fair. |

Judging
Exhibitors are requested to be
present during the judging. Judging will start
at 5:30 pm on Tuesday and continue
until completed. |
FFA & 4-H
Groups
We encourage members of the FFA and 4-H groups
to exhibit in the open classes, as we feel that
the experience and information gained thereby
will be of real value to them. |
Utility or
Farm Stock
This will consist of a pen of 5 hens, or pullets
of any breed in the American Class 1, a pen of 5
hens or pullets of any breed in the
Mediterranean Class 3, old and young hens
competing. |
Health
Requirements
All birds exhibited at West Virginia fairs,
festivals and shows shall be accompanied by: 1)
A statement by the owner signed on the day of
the show stating that the birds have been free
of disease for the past 30 days and did not
originate from a flock known to be infected with
pullorum/typhoid: 2) A Form 9-2 indicating that
the birds have been tested within 90 days of the
show or: 3) A form 9-3 indicating that they
originated from a pullorum/typhoid free flock
or: 4) Submit to a pullorum/typhoid test at the
place of exhibit performed by a state approved
tester.. Qualified individuals approved by the
Commissioner may perform the pullorom/typhoid
test at fairs, festival and shows. |

The individual who performs the pullorum/typhoid
test shall report to the Commissioner on forms
provided by the Commissioner the results of
these tests within seven (7) days of the
testing. |
|
If any bird submitted by an owner tests positive
for pullorum/typhoid, all remaining birds of
that owner shall be denied entry into the show.
The fair management shall keep a record of all
birds exhibited at their event. These records
shall include the name and address of the
exhibitor and the number of birds exhibited. |
|
No bird will be allowed for exhibit from an area
under quarantine. |
Rules & Regulations:
| 1. |
The American standard of perfection as
revised by the American Poultry Association
shall be the guide for the judges in
awarding the premiums. |
| 2. |
The comparison system of judging will be
used. (Single bird cannot compete in pen.
Bird in pen cannot compete single). |
| 3. |
Poultry showing any symptoms of disease will
be excluded from exhibition. All exhibits
are subject to inspection by the
superintendent in |
| 4. |
The term cock and hen-birds hatched prior to
January 1 the year of the fair. Cockerel and
pullet-birds hatched after January 1 of the
year of the Fair. |
| 5. |
Premium paid on listed classification only.
Awards will be made by the best expert judge
obtainable. |
| 6. |
No cards or advertising matter of any
description will be allowed on coops until
birds have been passed on by the judge. Each
exhibitor is kindly asked to have a printed
card to be placed on coop containing his
birds showing the breed and variety. |
| 7. |
Every precaution will be taken to protect
the exhibits and for this purpose a
competent superintendent will be present,
but the Fair will not be responsible for any
loss that may occur. |
| 8. |
Stock or exhibition cannot be removed until
9:00pm, Saturday of the fair. |
| 9. |
Exhibitors must be owners of the fowls they
exhibit. Combination exhibits strictly
forbidden. Any attempt to evade this rule,
or false statement in regard to age will
exclude the exhibitor from competing in any
class. |
| 10. |
When requests are received from a sufficient
number of exhibitors to justify the addition
of any standard breed not listed, they may
be added to the classified list. |
| 11. |
Exhibitors are requested to see to it that
entry tags are placed on each coop. |
| 12. |
All poultry exhibitors must buy membership
ticket to exhibit. |
| 13. |
No mixed breed accepted. |
| 14. |
Chairman will decide on any situations not
covered by the rules. Decision of the
chairman will be final. |
Rabbit Department:
| 1. |
No mixed breed accepted. |
| 2. |
Cages will be provided. |
| 3. |
Classes will be set depending on entries. |
| 4. |
All rabbits will be judged in Open Class |
| 5. |
Judging of rabbits will take place 5:30 pm,
Tuesday |
| 6. |
Exhibitors are responsible for daily care
and feeding of rabbits. |
| 7. |
Prize money will be paid in each class as
follows: |
