Entries accepted between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm in the log building.  This contest is open to men and women above the age 18.  Pies become the property of the Tyler County Fair.  All entries must be made by the exhibitor.  Even when using commercial filling or crust the pie must be assembled and baked by the exhibitor.  The pies must be displayed in non-returnable pan.  Entries are limited to on per pie category.  Judging will take place between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.  All pies will be auctioned off at 7:00 pm on the stage.  The judging criteria:  Overall appearance, flavor of filling & crust, crust flakiness, texture & aroma.  Ribbons will be awarded as follows:  1st $7; 2nd $6; 3rd $5; 4th $4; 5th $3.

     Category I - Filling & crust made from scratch

     Category II - Filling made from scratch with commercial crust

  • Two crust pie

  • One crust pie

     Category III - Filling commercial with homemade crust

  • Two crust pie

  • One crust pie

     Category IV - Filling and crust commercial

  • Two crust pie
